Want to be happy in your faith? Then make up your mind.
Abraham Lincoln said, "Most folks are as happy as they make up their mind to be."
The same can be said of faith. Most folks have the faith they desire because they make up their minds to have that faith.
They decide they no longer want to be unhappy with their discipleship. They decide they want to be as faithful to Jesus Christ as they can possibly be.
Here are three steps that can put you onto the path of happiness in faith:
1. Make up your mind that Jesus wants you to be happy in your faith. You must believe in the teachings of Jesus regarding abundant life, joy, and peace. Jesus wants that for you. He said that was why he came.
2. Make up your mind that you want to be happy in your faith. Don't leave your faith to chance. Don't allow external circumstances to determine your faith for you. You determine your faith. Determine you are going to have happiness in your faith.
3. Take steps in the direction of happiness in faith. What are the steps? The teachings of Jesus are a great place to start. Spiritual practices and disciplines are helpful also. You could start by telling yourself Jesus has given you abundant faith.
Say this affirmation aloud:
Jesus has given me abundant life.
Merely saying that makes you feel good. Each morning, look in the mirror and tell yourself that affirmation.
What are you telling yourself about your faith? Love to hear it. Send me a comment in the section below.
Also, if you know someone who needs to hear this affirmation, share it with them. Let's help as many people as we can have the faith the want.
