In Part 1 of this series of articles, I encouraged you to ask one simple question before you pray for another person, “Is the person you are praying for a Christian?”
The answer to that question determines what you do next.
In this article I am going to share 3 steps to follow if your answer to that question is “No, the person I am praying for is not a Christian.”
3 Steps
If you know the person you are praying for is not a Christian take these steps:
1. Pray for their salvation.
The most important step you could take for a person that is not a Christian is to pray for them. Ask God to make himself known to that person. Jesus taught that it is through God revealing himself to us that we come to know Jesus.
2. Pray for an opportunity.
Pray that God will give you an opportunity to talk with them about their salvation. Ask God to put you in their path or them in your path so that you can share the Gospel with them. At a minimum, pray that God will send someone to tell them about Christ.
3. Pray for the words.
Pray for God to give you the words to say when the opportunity comes. While I believe the Holy Spirit will tell you what to say when the time comes, there is not anything wrong with asking for those words ahead of time. Perhaps God will lead you to certain scriptures and reflection as you pray.
