THE LIGHT HAS COME

Epiphany is a day of revelation. Epiphany is when the church remembers Christ's light illuminated the world, not just one people. The journey of the Magi reaches its culmination here, not just in their arrival, but in what their arrival represents: the unveiling of Jesus as the Savior for all nations, all cultures, all people. The Light has come, and the world will never be the same.

Matthew tells us that after the Magi encountered Jesus, they “returned to their country by another route” (Matthew 2:12). Their path changed because they had changed. An encounter with Christ always transforms us. It redirects our steps, reshapes our priorities, and reorients our hearts. The Magi came seeking a king, and they left having met the King of Kings.

Epiphany invites us to reflect on the ways Christ has revealed Himself to us not only in the grand moments, but in the quiet ones. In answered prayers and in unanswered ones. In expected and unexpected provision. In the peace that steadied us when life felt uncertain. In the gentle conviction that drew us closer to Him. In the hope that rose within us when circumstances didn’t change but we did.

The light of Christ is not a distant glow. The light of Christ is a present reality. It shines into the places we try to hide, the wounds we carry, the fears we hold, and the questions we wrestle with. His light does not expose to shame. His light exposes to heal. It reveals truth, brings clarity, and leads us into freedom.

And just as the light has come to us, it shines through us. Jesus said, “You are the light of the world.” We do not generate light on our own, but we reflect the One who lives within us. The world around you—your family, your workplace, your community—needs the light you carry. It needs not be a perfect light, but a faithful one. It is a light of compassion, patience, forgiveness, courage, and hope.

As this season of Christmas draws to a close and the journey from the manger to Epiphany completes, let your heart rest in this truth: Christ has come. God revealed Christ. Christ is with you, and His light is enough for every step ahead.

Prayer:
Lord, thank You for revealing Yourself to the world and to my heart. Let Your light shine in me and through me. Guide my steps, shape my life, and help me reflect Your love to everyone I encounter. Amen.
