Get in Motion

Have you ever wondered when the disciples of Jesus truly understood their mission and purpose? The moment of realization for his disciples isn’t very clear. But what is clear is that they didn't wait for complete clarity before taking action. Their journey was marked by faith in action, learning as they went.

The disciples' journey towards understanding began with their initial commission. Jesus sent them out to heal, preach, and cast out demons (Matthew 10:5-8). At this point, they might not have fully comprehended the magnitude of their mission, but they were obedient.

As they continued to walk with Jesus, more pieces of the puzzle fell into place. They witnessed Jesus calming the raging seas (Matthew 8:23-27) and performing countless miracles. These experiences surely deepened their understanding of His divine identity.

The turning point may have been the resurrection. When Jesus appeared to them after His triumph over death, it likely solidified their faith and purpose (John 20:19-23). But their journey was far from over.

The Holy Spirit's arrival at Pentecost empowered them in a new and profound way. It was as if the final piece of the puzzle clicked into place. They knew their mission. They boldly proclaimed the gospel, despite facing persecution and even death.

What we can learn from the disciples is that faith is not about having all the answers before taking action. It's about stepping out in obedience, even when you don't fully understand. Their journey teaches us that we can learn and grow in our faith as we go.

So, in your own faith journey, don't wait for perfect clarity. Take that first step, and the pieces will fall into place as you go. Just like the disciples, realization may only come once you are in motion, sharing the message of hope and salvation with the world.
