Fear is a powerful force. It can paralyze us, preventing us from stepping into the purpose that God has for our lives. The story of Moses is a testament to this truth. When God called Moses to lead the Israelites out of Egypt, Moses was plagued by doubts and fears that nearly prevented him from answering God's call.
Moses' fears were numerous and overwhelming. He worried that he couldn't speak eloquently, that the people wouldn't believe him, and that he was ill-equipped to face the mighty Egyptians. In his mind, he saw himself stuttering and stumbling over words, unable to convince anyone to follow him.
But here's the irony: None of Moses' fears came true. They were nothing more than faulty visions in his mind. When he finally mustered the courage to step out in faith and do what God had called him to do, he discovered that God had equipped him for the task all along.
Moses led the Israelites out of Egypt, performed miracles, and eventually received the Ten Commandments on Mount Sinai. His story teaches us a valuable lesson—that when we're following God's calling for our lives, most of our fears are unfounded.
We often create mental barriers that hold us back, convincing ourselves that we're not good enough, smart enough, or capable enough to fulfill God's plan. But just like Moses, we have to recognize that God equips those He calls. Our fears may seem insurmountable, but they crumble in the face of God's faithfulness.
So, the next time fear threatens to hold you back from answering God's call, remember the story of Moses. Trust that God has already equipped you, and step out in faith. When you do, you'll find that your fears were nothing more than illusions, and God's plan for your life will unfold before you.
