A Year-Long Reading Plan: How to Read the PrecisionFaith Books throughout the Year (Updated)

Question: What order should I read the PrecisionFaith books?

Answer: A good year-long reading plan for PrecisionFaith Books is listed below. The books will not fill every day of your year, but they can provide an excellent resource for your faith development.

February/March or during Lent - Jesus: 21 Days That Can Change the Way You Pray. Outstanding book to focus on the ministry of Christ and the call of Christ upon your life.

April - Praying for Your People: A Pastor’s Guide Every Christian Should Read. This book teaches pastors how to pray for their people as the Apostle Paul prayed for his people. It is a splendid book for anyone to read and pray for their fellow church members.

Easter Season - Recognizing Jesus in Your Everyday Life: A Christian Guide to Daily Faith. This book answers the question of Mary at the empty tomb, “Where is my Lord?” The angel that appears to her gives the answer that we often overlook. “He is where he told you he would be?” Just where did Jesus tell us he would be? The Bible reveals seven places Jesus said he would be after his resurrection. This book looks at the seven places, answering what Jesus is doing there, and how we can take part in what Jesus is doing.

May/June or during the season of Pentecost - Acts: Prayer That Can Change Your Church. Acts looks at the mission of the church and how to pray for your church so that it can thrive.

August/September - Psalms of a Sinner. Psalms is a good reflection book. As we enter the last half of the year, this book can help you reflect on the first half of the year and your life.

October - Praying for Your Pastor: A Church Member’s Guide Every Pastor Should Read. October is Pastor’s Appreciation Month. A great time to place special emphasis on praying for your pastor.

November or the 1st Week of Advent - Spirituality Made Simple: An Advent Journey into Spiritual Growth. Order in early October. Part 1 includes a discussion on principles and keys about spiritual disciplines and how to get the most out of any devotional. Part 2 incorporates the principles into Advent devotionals as you prepare for the coming of the Messiah.

December 25th - Faith Made Simple: A Christmas Journey into Belief. Order in early December. Part 1 includes principles and terms about the journey of faith itself. Faith is not as clean cut as many make it sound. Faith is messy. You will want to give yourself time to read Part 1 before beginning the daily devotionals on the 25th. The devotionals in Part 2 will help you use your Christmas celebrations to enhance your belief in Christ.

January 6th - Christ Made Simple: An Epiphany Journey into Identity. Order mid-December. Part 1 includes a series of exercises to help you discover your Christian identity. You will learn how your faith has been shaped and transformed. You will want to give yourself time to read those chapters before beginning the daily devotionals on the January 6th, the first day of Epiphany. The devotionals in Part 2 include scriptural affirmations that call you to embrace your identity as found in Christ.

Upcoming: I am currently working on two major projects. The first is to finish the PrecisionFaith Devotional Series. I would like to complete the series to provide a year-round daily devotion for the full Christian Calendar. The second is a large project that has been ongoing for some time, involving several resources to help you have the faith you seek. Keep me in your prayers as I try to help people grow in their faith by following the teachings of our Lord.
